New Opportunities -
Traditional Values
Groton, South Dakota was founded in 1881 as a railroad stop.
Located at the junction of US Highway 12 and SD Highway 37, the
town, with an approximate population of 1400, serves as a hub for
smaller outlying towns and the surrounding agricultural community.
Groton offers an outstanding school system, a variety of churches
and a wide variety of recreational activities and community services.
The city built a new swimming pool in 2009 for summertime
enjoyment and completed a new ice skating rink for winter fun. The
town is home to an impressive baseball/softball complex and soccer
field. These amenities, along with tennis courts, a basketball court, a
centrally located city park with playground and walking path, and a
nine-hole golf course make Groton an ideal place to raise a family
and grow a business.
The businesses in Groton are vital to the town and surrounding
communities. They provide a wide range of products and services,
from healthcare to auto care, beauty services, agronomy services. If
you need it or need it done, a Groton business can serve you. Our
Chamber Business Members help sponsor countless activities and
support many community efforts.
With a thriving community and commercial/retail space available,
Groton is a great place to grow a new business.
